Gallery 25N is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of paintings and sculpture by the multi-faceted artist, Dyan Rosenberg. The work will be on view from September 15 - November 3 at Gallery 25N, 25 North Division Street in Peekskill, NY. The Artist's Reception will be held on Saturday, September 15 from 4 - 8 pm, and Ms. Rosenberg's works will be available for viewing from Thursday - Saturday, 1:00 - 5:00 pm and by appointment.
In addition, the exhibit will be open for "A Taste of Peekskill" and "Ferry Go Round" September 16 as a celebration of the art and diversity of downtown Peekskill from 1:00PM - 6:00PM.
Ms. Rosenberg creates her paintings with a deep passion for color and a gift for spontaneity. The viewer will see the ease and comfort she has moving from strong graphic shapes and patterns to loose expressionistic lines and moving forms. With powerful strokes and gestures, her artistic language challenges the viewer with pure abstraction or expressionistic landscapes. When you engage these moody and romantic canvases, as well as the three sculptures, the "Goddesses", you begin to see the power of the "spiritualism of self" in all of her work.
It is evident in all of Ms. Rosenberg's work that there is a characteristic search for self rather than convention. When I say all of her work I am referring to her lifetime journey as an artist. This journey includes her wide range of talent not only as a painter and sculptor, but her equally successful work in fine art furniture, clothing and as a premier home designer in Westchester and New York City. To begin to understand the scope of her artistic life one needs to see the full range of creation by this artist.
When discussing Dyan Rosenberg's work, it must be said that there is always a rich mixture of ideas; a lifetime struggle for creative independence and a spiritualism that speaks to all of us.
