FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Announcing the solo exhibition of figurative artwork by North Salem resident, Dyan Rosenberg, at The Hiram Halle Memorial Library in Pound Ridge, NY. The work will be on view October 27 through December 8th, with an opening reception scheduled for Saturday, October 27 from 3-5pm.

Loaded with color and intensity, each piece is a penetrating examination of the inner psyche of Ms. Rosenberg's subjects. While the early influence of cartoons is evident in her mastery of line, the bold execution style and strong modeling, drawing from years of abstract experimentation, is entirely her own.

While upon first glance a delight to the senses, beneath the surface of each work lies a highly complex, personal engagement between the artist and her subject. Piece after piece, we are confronted with the drama of the human connection, be it a mother and son playing dress up, or a smoker in curlers staring blankly at the viewer. Her 2007 large-scale paintings, The Family Jewels, are another compelling example of Ms. Rosenberg's examinations, emitting an almost kinetic vibration, and revealing an unmistakable family rapport captured in time.

Ms. Rosenberg's relationship with art mirrors her attitude towards life. A risk-taker and self-starter, she embraces each day with unrivalled enthusiasm and excitement. Her tireless energy virtually bursts out of her work, resulting in living, breathing examples of her life experience.
